Shiraz – “Rain” (ft. Sam Robinson)

Shiraz Hempstock is a singer/songwriter based in Worcestershire. At age fourteen, she started to play open mic sessions at venues around Worcestershire, including The Marrs Bar. Shiraz then decided to take her music further a field, to the streets of Liverpool and Birmingham. On weekend afternoons, she captivated the attention of strangers, winning over city center crowds. Her successful performing activity led to her producing her first EP while still in school. Shiraz was then featured on singer/ songwriter Sam Robinson’s track “Hold Me” which led to the duo co-writing and recording the song “Rain”.

“Rain” is a beautifully written song with a classic emotional four-chord melody. The sound of actual rain in the mix recreates the feeling of solitude on a rainy day. The full band kicks in for an uplifting and catchy chorus led by Shiraz’s smoky voice laced with wonderful melodies. The vocals are backed up with a thick soundscape of instruments weaving along with each other making this track pop from every angle. You can listen to “Rain” on our Prime Cuts Playlist on Youtube and Spotify and follow Shiraz Hempstock on the links below.
