Karen Harding is a singer/songwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. She has been a player in the city’s vibrant music scene since the release of her debut single ‘I Didn’t Realize’ in May 2021. Karen has earned several awards and accolades for her music including the 2021 Bendigo Bank-sponsored Radio Eastern Songwriter Talent Show, being nominated as a Top Ten Winner at World Songwriting Awards in September 2021, and Best International Artist at Crags Radio Independent Artist Awards in February 2022. Since her debut single, Harding has continued to grow and expand musically by collaborating with other artists and producers internationally. On March 8th 2024, Karen Harding released the second single from her upcoming album ‘Behind The Mask’ titled ‘Judge You’.
‘Judge You’ grew into existence through counseling sessions that led Harding down a path of introspection and inspired her to create a song that explores self-judgment and the effects it has on us as individuals. “Lyrically, it delves into the paradoxical nature of self-judgment—that it serves as a useful defense against external criticism while also needing the release of negative internal narratives that hinder individual growth.” Karen is emotionally honest about the subject, exploring her own inner workings, and the result is a powerful ballad with a deep meaning.
The song starts off with a soft piano and Karen’s beautifully strong voice. Patiently building the intensity as is progresses, the track dramatically grows into a powerhouse ballad. It really showcases Harding’s vocal abilities with harmonies and call & response style lines reflecting the songs theme: exploring the internal dialogue you have with yourself.
