Chicago-based Hip-Hop artist Neak draws vivid verbal portraits, which find inspiration in the spirit of U.S. culture and his own deep-seating personal experiences. He is the son of musician Robert Kelly of the R&B/Gospel/Soul group “The Kelly Brothers,” performed alongside Funk & Soul legends like James Brown & Sam Cooke. Neak’s new self-produced album, “KWESBAAR,” is scheduled to be released this year (Spring/Summer); executive produced by Chicago veteran MC/Producer/Engineer Rashid Hadee.
On his latest record, Neak teamed up with a Chicago MC currently residing in Brooklyn, NY named R.O.E. and guitarist Karlton Sellers on a track titled “Future Is Now”, mixed and mastered by producer/ engineer, Pamon. “Future Is Now” cultivates its very original sound from blending classic hip-hop beats and samples with sharp and aggressive guitar lines. The groove of the track is mellow while also constantly driving ahead. The blend of the sounds and loops give it a fuzzy psychedelic tone, almost has a chaotic vibe that is pulled together by the rock solid verses. The lyrics are introspective and display a sharp-eyed view of the world around the writer. Part of the message one could take is to keep pushing forward through these struggles, giving the song hope and optimism. You can listen to “Future Is Now” and follow Neak on the links below.
