“Way It Is” is a track off of Western New York independent artist Sean Thurman’s first solo album “Cold River”. This acoustic styled song has a mellow bluegrass feel with a reflective atmosphere that prompts listeners to consider the way things are, and question whether or not that’s necessarily a good thing. Lyrically, Thurman channels artists like Bob Dylan and Isaac Brock, painting pictures with fractured phrases rather than fully detailed explanation, setting the scene and tone for life in a small town and the decisions one has to make to either accept a comfortable simple existence, or reach out for something more.
