Strange Waves is an alt/rock band from the Muscle Shoals* area of northwest Alabama. The band has been together since 2013. They released their first CD, ‘Walls’ in 2015, and their track “Image” won ‘Song of the Year’ on the Justin Wayne Radio Show. Strange Waves has been on several shows w/ Runabay on the Justin Wayne Show in the fall/winter of 2015.
The song, “The Growing”, is currently in rotation on community radio stations and at rickcarterradio.com as part of his “Alabama Artists, All The Time” format, on EGH Radio’s ‘Anne’s Rock Show’ as well as other broadcasts around the world. “The Growing” is a very eclectic track that starts off with an intro then builds and builds. When the verse kicks in there is a hopeful punk attitude, and the vibe almost sounds like the soundtrack of a John Hughes movie. Chorus snaps in with a energy and eventually breaks down to crunchy synchronized guitar riffs. This is a song with many peaks and valleys, and several seamless shifts in energy. At one point Strange Waves lives up to their name and takes you off to space and displays their well-rounded instrumentation before bringing you back.
