Vanilla Base is a pop rock band based out of Madrid, Spain. Towards the end of the summer in 2007 the members decided to regroup and begin work on new music. In addition to changing their name and the incorporation of the new vocalist, seven new songs were developed with a completely different focus and direction, giving rise to the name “Vanilla Base“. After a new bassist joined, the band began playing more and more events, including a live television performance, recorded a four-song demo CD, and they continue to write music and play shows, sharing their music with the world. Still beaming with new ideas and plans for the future, Vanilla Base invites their listeners to join them in a world filled with new sounds and a touch of vanilla.

In the track “It’s Been So Long” Vanilla Base wastes no time kicking into an up-tempo beat layered with smooth guitar reminiscent of American Surf Rock. The vocal style is a great mix of a very strong female voice while remaining light and fun. The lyrics paint a vivid image and memories of a city and a smoky bar. The guitar work in this song really stands out, full of bluesy riffs and euphoric peaks. “It’s Been So Long” is a feel good song that beautifully mixes a pop feel with rock guitars and soulful vocals.
