Noah’s primary genre is Pop Music but with a distinctive sound that he describes as “Alternative to Pop”. His music influence was predominantly Pop and Afro-Beats as he grew older he developed a taste for Hip-Hop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, R&B, Reggae, House and Classical Music. He started out with releasing demos with the name “Neohshazzy” and producing under the name “DISTINCTIONBEAT” and since then has changed his name two times (NOAH then Noa’h) before settling with Noah Airé. In 2016 Noah became the first Apple certified Mastering engineer from Nigeria. He later went on to create a remix for Waje and engineer for Vanessa Mdee.
Airé released his debut Mixtape “I Shine Brightest in the Dark” on 13 January, 2018. It serves as a follow up to his debut extended play “The Lone STAR” which was released 13 January, 2016 as it explore similar issues but in darker themes. The mixtape was preceded by three singles: “Ü Know I need Ü”, “It’s a Miracle (13 Clouds)” and the lead Single “U Don’t Know My Story”. The mixtape is predominantly Pop but contains elements of R&B/Soul, Gospel, Trap, Cloud Rap, Dancehall, Electro-Pop, Afro-Pop, Classical, Synth-Pop, New Age and Rock.
On the Mixtape Noah says: “This mixtape is a movie in my head as was “The Lone STAR”. It’s plot is set after “Star-Struck”. “Star-Struck” ended on a lively note, but this starts with a chaotic and angry feel, takes some turns and ends on a more confident and in some way braggadocios one.” The mixtape was recorded between July 2016 and July 2017 and was solely written, performed, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Noah.
“Ü Know I need Ü” is a track that beautifully blends world beats and rhythms with hip-hop and dramatic piano/ synth tones. The vocals are full of passion and draped in fuzz giving them a powerful and aggressive style backed up by the tight musical track underneath. The song has many different chord changes and shifts in tone from a bouncy dancehall beat to a deep and beautiful piano pop song. This track is a perfect example of this artist’s wide range of styles. You can listen to “Ü Know I need Ü” and follow Noah Airé on the links below.
