The Roques are a five-piece indie band from Dundee, Scotland. The band members are lead vocalist Brandyn Mahmood, Theo Middleton on rhythm guitar, lead guitarist Jamie Wilde, bass guitarist Cammy Duncan and Blair Nicol on drums. The band members’ ages range from 19 – 21. The Roques are currently on Spun From The Law Records and have recently released the single “Day By Day” which is now available across all platforms.
“Day By Day” is a melodically aggressive track with a giant sound and classic vibe. The opening guitar has a punky drive and crunchy tone that sets the foundation for the rest of the band. They fill up the speakers with a tight and explosive sound that has a rock anthem quality. The vocals are mellow and cool during the verses while the band drives forward into a catchy chorus that just keeps digging. The guitar solo has a bluesy influence filtered through high-energy rock and roll aggression. This song has all of the assets of a kick ass rock song, and also achieves a high level of musical quality.
