The Reason is a four-piece indie/tropical/pop/rock group based in Glasgow. The band is Martin Lynch, Chris McCann, Bruce Murray and Scott McCutcheon.
They have been together for almost two years and in that time have released an EP titled “Initiation” and a single called “Just The Same”. The band describes their music as “indie for fans of Cage The Elephant, Two Door Cinema Club, The 1975 and Bombay Bicycle Club.”
“Just The Same” begins with an echoed guitar that sets a quirky vibe. The full band kicks into a giant sound, then tightening it up and mellowing out for the verse. The vocals have a cool attitude and aloof quality. The chorus is catch and fills the room with noise. The beat is steady and upbeat while remaining relaxed at the right times, and exploding at others. Their playing is dynamic as the song heads into different instrumental sections, they are not afraid to get weird.
