Cloud is from Long Island, New York and was created by Tyler Taorminaand friends. In 2013 Cloudreleased the LP “Comfort Songs”to positive review. Though operating on a DIY level, Cloud’s music has found praise and support from Pitchfork, Stereogum, GoldFlakePaint, Drowned in Sound, CLASH, Indie Shuffle,TLOBF, IMPOSE, The Alternative, Post-Trash, Nialler9, London in Stereo, The Grey Estates, KCRW, DIY Magand BBC 6 Music. In February of 2018, Cloud released “Plays With Fire”preceded by the free single “Wildfire”.
“Wildfire”is a sonic blend of trippy and beautiful melody with a driving back beat. The electronic drum patterns add an industrial feel while the textures and harmonies take it to a more personal level. The vocals are distant and quirky, angelically floating above the track. There are so many layers of sounds and grooves the entire song feels like an audio collage of styles and flavors.
