The Backseat Bullets are a three-piece alternative rock band from Albany, New York. Zackery Geddies plays guitar and sings lead vocals, Tristan Beach plays bass, and Jeremy Lopez plays drums. They have used their DIY style of making music to establish themselves in some of the iconic venues in the Albany area. They are hopeful to reinvent the stereotype of a three piece punk band by delivering an original blend of rock music with roots in hardcore and melodic presence of dream pop and shoe gaze. The band released their debut EP “Give You The Moon”, which has enjoyed airtime on local radio stations, and their most recent self produced single “Suede”. Backseat Bullets are currently in the studio recording their follow-up EP to be released in 2018. The track “Cascading Failures” is currently streaming on the band’s Bandcamp page.
“Cascading Failures” begins with wailing feedback and an apathetic vocal reminiscent of old school punk. The main riff is crunchy and distant while the drums and bass aggressively drive the song along. The melody of the verses is ambient and thoughtful. The chorus has a giant hook and tons of personality with the mellow vocals giving the song its attitude. This is a playful track with adolescent idealism and a genuine classic punk rock feel.
