Deleo is an indie rock duo from France. Their music has been defined as “aerial and panoramic, dark melodies with spicy pop sounds”. The group consists of a multi-instrumentalist songwriter, Later (Denis NAVARRO) and Mathilde, a young talented singer. Their first single was a beautiful track titled “Cosmic”, in February 2018 we featured their single “Game Lover”, and in July we showed you “Unfair” Since January they have gained over 85K streams on Spotify without any promotion and continue to expand musically and artistically. Today Deleo is back with their fourth single, “Going Home”. In their own words, “It’s a piece with progressive emotion where Mathilde sings in a sensual voice on a pop melody, air and melancholy.”
“Going Home” begins with a dark but beautiful acoustic guitar that sets the tone, later joined by strings and dramatically primal drums keeping the beat. The vocals have a mellow confidence to them, injecting the words with personality and emotion. The song grows musically as it progresses, adding more layers and taking more turns melodically. The energy becomes more intense as the heartfelt lyrics are put across with angelic vocal harmonies. The orchestration shows a growth in songwriting for the band and an ability to create massive soundscapes. The beat gets more involved and the song drops into a powerful section of guitars and tones driving home the heaviness of the track. The band takes you through many different moods and energies while maintaining their sound and delivering their perfectly crafted tune.
