Jeremy Parsons – “Things to Come”

Jeremy Parsons is a Texas born musician who has brought the inspiration of the Lone Star State with him throughout his career. Although he was a fan of music, it wasn’t until his later high school years that Jeremy realized his knack for it. He taught himself to play the guitar and began to write and perform music.
Parsons has played throughout the U.S. and in Europe over the last decade, including numerous venues in Texas. His live shows radiate with the deep love he has for performing music, Jeremy loves interacting with the crowd through his personality and sense of humor. Taking inspiration from his own personal experiences, Jeremy crafts songs that are relatable, perceptive and meaningful.
His single “Things I Need To Say” was a Top 40 Roots Music Report and IndieWorld Report track, That single was followed up by the equally well-received, “Why is the Bluebird Blue”, also a Top 40 Roots Report americana single. “Bluebird” also reached #2 on the Hits You Love pop charts. The videos for both songs were nominated and selected for numerous Film Festivals, including the Jersey Shore Film Festival, Indie’s Best Films Festival, and the Monkey Bread Tree Film Festival, an IMDB-sanctioned film festival.

Jeremy has returned home to Texas after living in Nashville for several years, and on May 29th, 2020 released the single “Tragedy”. His single, “Good Ole Days” was put out on July 17th, 2020 and Parsons plans to release a full album in January of 2021. On November 20, 2020, Jeremy Parsons released his latest single, “Things To Come”.

About his latest song Jeremy says, “We all have those crucial crossroad points in our life, a moment in which you have to look at what you’ve got and realistically decide what’s next and what’s for the best. “Things To Come” is about the journey that got me there, a rollercoaster ride of drugs and alcohol, a search for the correct answers for myself. Was it that my life was over, or was it that something greater was about to begin. That was my choice to make, and I chose the latter.”

The song starts with a soothing and mellow atmosphere, layers of acoustic and electric guitars setting the tone and melody. Jeremy’s voice is unique and full of honesty and soul, the song manages to be both a little sad a melancholy while also being very uplifting and hopeful. The chorus hits big and has great momentum to it, showcasing Parsons skills at crafting a distinctive tune. The track has all the traditional country/Americana features, beautiful vocal harmonies, strong melodic guitars and powerful lyrics, but also has enough of an interesting structure and individual personality that it remains unique.

A rich slide guitar solo leads the band during a musical peak. The sound achieves a level of euphoria before settling back into a quick comforting verse then launching back into another triumphant chorus, utilizing dynamics to create very powerful moments. Jeremy lays out his story and describes the long, sometimes hard path he has taken to get to where he is now. That type of raw honesty and willingness to put yourself out there, good and bad, takes a lot of courage and is a testament to why Jeremy is still continuing to achieve success.
