Black Dreams is a blues-driven heavy metal band from Rauma, Finland. The band is made up of vocalist and song writer Juha Kraapo, lead guitarist and writer Jere Kalla, drummer Jari Rantanen, rhythm guitarist Sami Raikkonen and bass player Antti Kalliokoski. Juha spent many years with the crossover thrash band Discipline X, eventually deciding to begin writing and demoing original music and assembling a new band. Black Dreams is recording their first full album now.
“My Hell” begins with a thick sounding bass and drums matched with a haunting atmosphere. The band builds the energy up into the main riff that is a guaranteed head banger. The verses are airy and spooky with a strong voice, leading into a strong anthem chorus that then cuts to a badass ½ time riff with power and attitude. The guitar solos are precise and larger than life. The mix of a moody spacey verse and tight high-energy chorus keep this song interesting and rocking the whole way through.
