New Track City is a hip-hop group based out of the North West United States. The two rappers Bem, Chi. Stone and producer Dru on Beats, formed the trio from Federal Way, Washington. The group brought an “all in” attitude to the release of their first internet album, “Spring Exceeds Winter”, in which they blend live instruments with Big Band Jazz to create a hip hop sound of their own. Their follow up mix tape the “Damn Gina Tape” also recreates a vintage era of music, utilizing a sound bed filled with live instrumentation, thumping drums, and soulful vibes. With the 2017 release of their EP “Lose Sight of Shore” produced entirely by Dru on Beats, New Track City intends to continue their streak of pushing the sounds we have became accustomed to in Hip Hop.
Their track “Right Now” featuring Falon Sierra starts off with a complex and classic sounding piano loop that is paired with a tight, energetic back beat. The song does a great job of tossing back and forth between this hyped up section and the very peaceful sounding breakdown with the beautiful vocals of Sierra that perfectly contrasts the street style of the verses. The tight flow and conscious content of the lyrics adds depth and wisdom while maintaining the celebratory bounce. This is a great party track that also has mindfulness behind it.
