Le Groupe Fantastique is a synth pop trio based in London. They were formed just over 18 months ago, and consist of vocalist Jono Marshall, Al Baker on Moog, Synths and Live Bass, and Tom Gee on Synths. In their own words, “We play Synth driven alt pop with a dark edge and a nod to our 80’s hero’s Depeche Mode, New Order & Gary Numan.” “Till the Time Is Right” is the first single to come from their new EP and Le Groupe Fantastiqe are currently working on a 5thsingle to be released soon.
“Till the Time Is Right” begins with a tight and straightforward drum pattern before being joined by a fuzzy punk infused bass playing thoughtful melody. The strong synths drive the vocal melody that stretches notes and give the song a bigger sound. The way they drop into the chorus is sweetly comforting and the hook sticks with you. The instrumental breakdowns are tasteful and simple, the bass taking on the role of a lead instrument while the synths give it a giant sound.
