The Dreamhouses are a dream pop/bedroom rock band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The duo consists of singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Em Edgerton and Dan Irving, who met while working at UNC’s radio station, WXYC. They describe their music as “pop/bedroom rock for the Reebok wearing White dad that’s inside of us all, that you can dance, laugh and cry to.” They released an 8-track album in 2018 titled “Surrealtors” that features the song “All of the Colour”.
“All of the Colour” begins with a tight up tempo drumbeat and a bouncing melody of piano chords. The vocals have a quirky soulful quality, and the baseline that strings everything together is flowing with pop enthusiasm. A catchy chorus with strong vocal harmonies leads to an eccentric instrumental section that blends several very original sounding tones. The songs structure builds and weaves, growing stronger as the music progresses. This is a feel good pop hit with a cool style and unique personality.
