Alpha is the Dallas based producer who specializes in smooth sonic beats and instrumentation for Philadelphia born emcee Scorcese. The two make up the musically eclectic duo Alpha x Scorcese. They describe their music like this; “Imagine Organized Noize produced a film score with No I.D at N.O. Joe’s studio while Kid Cudi was Visiting. Now combine that with an East Coast born emcee steeped in Southern influence with lyrical prowess reminiscent of Goodie Mob and Beanie Sigel with the attitude of Pimp C and excitement of a Cash Money Millionaire.” In February of 2018 Alpha x Scorcese released the official video for “A World Only Gods Know”.

The track starts with layers of fluttering jazzy horns and beautiful strings. They set a spacey atmosphere with echoed vocals and distant tones that give it a cool and eerie vibe. The beat immediately kicks in with tight drums and aggressive rhyming. Scorcese’s lyrical patterns are complex and introspective. As the verse progresses the music behind it takes dramatic chord changes taking the track through different moods and styles.
